Music & Video Store Played Real-Time Audio and Video via a Web Browser-
Built an on-line store for selling CDs and videos on the net for a major telecommunications firm. This involved developing an audio & video on demand system using CGI, custom browser plugins and LDAP databases. CD quality audio and broadcast quality video were played inside a web browser. CGI programming allowed the system to track user preferences and suggest appropriate titles for purchase. System also included on-line commerce functionality.
On-line Magazine Publishing System Powered by Database-
Created a database driven electronic publishing system for an on-line magazine allowing writers to submit articles, editors to mark up and flag articles as publishable and an end user interface that automatically presented current articles.
On-line Sports News System Fed by Multiple News Feeds-
Designed an Internet publishing system for an America On-Line subsidiary, a sporting news service, which automatically incorporated news and statistics every 15 minutes. A central database contained all of the information from multiple sources. The system allowed writers and editors to hand off articles, test page layouts and automatically publish documents using pre-configured page templates.
Contact Management Intranet Used Java GUI to Present Information-
Developed an application which provided multi-user secure access to contact information in an easy to use fashion. The Java based system linked to an Oracle database using JDBC for a client tracking intranet system.
On-line Expense Reporting Application Allowed Remote Access via Java-
Created core technology for an expense report outsourcing firm to generate expense reports via the Internet. The Java application linked to Oracle and Sybase databases using JDBC. This system included the use of Java to CGI communications to allow for persistent file storage and printing of reports.
Internet Game System With Real-Time Player Interaction-
Created an Internet game system in which players can chat, play sounds and move game pieces on a shared Internet game table. Real-time communication and interaction between players in a networked client/server environment is made possible through advanced Java technologies.
Created Extensive Community on the Internet For Game Enthusiasts-
Dynamic web site allows users to interact via bulletin boards, surveys and top ten lists and has grown to be the largest role playing related community on the Internet. Site also contains many database driven resources such as a convention finder, Internet Role Player Registry for finding other gamers and a game scheduling tool.

ISP Services
Phoenix Concepts, LTD. is first and foremost an Internet developer and interactive agency. We provide ISP services as a value-added component to our customers. We have a relationship with several servers; we will work with your existing server or one of your choice. The decision will be based on your desires and what scenario ensures that you will receive service commensurate with your needs.
Our primary ISP is a local Chicago server that fits the needs of many of our customers. That server, EnterAct, has redundant T3 connections, through BBN/GTE and GoodNet, ensuring that your site is always available to the Internet. Providing additional backup, EnterAct has a 10-megabit ethernet connection through AboveNet.
All servers are housed in EnterAct's state of the art Network Operations Center (NOC). With 24-hour pager support, EnterAct ensures that a member of the staff is readily available for handling emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
EnterAct maintains an open and honest communication policy with its customers by providing system update information that affects customers well in advance of implementation and keeping them informed on the status of any server problems. Customers may monitor online at http://noc.enteract.com the status of Enteract's servers, the average temperature at their NOC, and activity in the dial-in pools.
EnterAct continually monitors its dial-in pools so to be prepared to order new lines prior to reaching capacity. EnterAct is a firm supporter of its no-busy signal policy that restricts growth should existing customers experience busy signals. EnterAct wants to maintain its high level of service with existing and ensure that service for future customers.
